One of the first regions of France in research and development budget, Nord-Pas de Calais has a high potential based on public research laboratories and the edge of regional food businesses.
The means of performance
The Region has a network of facilities for scientific and technological pace with the needs of the regional food economy:
- The Food Safety,
- Plant biotechnologies,
- The engineering and manufacturing processes of transformation.
Technology transfer and technical support to enterprises are provided by:
- Technical centers with pilots halls and laboratories of formulation: ADRIANOR, CEVPM et l'INRACQ, a technical center dedicated to the craft.
- Specialists in food safety: the SERMHA of the Pasteur Institute of Lille, in connection with public bodies such as AFSSA Boulogne of the INRA of Villeneuve-d'Ascq,
- 2 schools of engineering in food: the ISA and the Department IAAL of POLYTECH'LILLE,
- An interface between business and competence centers: CERTIA INTERFACE.
3 poles of competitiveness associated with food industry
- The pole Filière Produits Aquatiques (FPA) is to develop the competitiveness of the chain of seafood and aquaculture in meeting their needs and helping them pérenisser their business through innovation , quality and technological development.
- The pole Nutrition Santé Longévité (NSL) is used to accelerate collaboration in the field of nutrition and health and functional ingredients. It aims to promote the development of processes and innovative products in the areas of prevention through nutrition, treatment of metabolic diseases, cardiovascular and associates, and diseases associated with aging.
- The pole Matériaux à Usage Domestique (MAUD) whose role is innovation for new products for daily chemical and performance materials for food and tableware.
